Our oceans are full of secrets. Buried beneath the deep waters lie ruins of fascinating and marvelous long forgotten ancient kingdoms. Underwater explorers have also discovered mysterious objects of unknown origin, entire rivers and jungles, and even huge canyons.
Now let us remember that the ocean covers 71 percent of the Earth’s surface and contains 97 percent of the planet’s water, yet more than 95 percent of the underwater world remains unexplored. One cannot help wondering what else is hiding deep beneath the unknown waters.

In ancient times, the city of Thonis-Heracleion, known in modern tiles as the lost kingdom of Cleopatraserved as a gateway to Egypt. Today, this mysterious legendary city is submerged in Egypt’s Aboukir Bay, near Alexandria.
Why the city sank remains a mystery, but it was swallowed by the Mediterranean Sea and has been buried in sand and mud for more than 1,200 years.
